OK guys. I don't even know how to begin. These two love birds stole my heart the very first day I met them. We met at the Culver Hotel, sat on the couches to talk business and ended up just hanging out for a couple hours without even realizing it. When Katie and John started telling me about the vision they had for their wedding, I slowly began to hope and dream in my head that they would pick me because it sounded so perfect and they were so wonderful and I just wanted so badly to be a part of this day and capture part of their beautiful love story. SO! When they asked us to come along for this journey I literally squealed!!! I COULD NOT WAIT for Matt to meet them, I knew he would love them too! Slowly over the course of the wedding planning, we became more than vendors, but friends! Katie would text me little snippets of her wedding pieces coming together and I felt like "one of the girls!"
Which leads us to the day. Everything they envisioned, everything they talked to me about on that first day came to life! They put so much love and time and effort into do their completely DIY wedding! They put together all of the decorations, the reception flowers, mix and match dresses, the individual dinner glasses, the vases... everything! And one of the most beautiful parts of the day was that Katie's sister designed her gown! You can check out her collection here: JANN MARIE BRIDAL . At the reception, they had wood fired pizza made right there on site. Doesn't really get much more perfect than that! Everything just came together like a dream!
Oh and did I mention, it was all part of a CAMPING TRIP?!! They had their friends and family celebrate all week, camping together at Camp Comfort in Ojai, California, which is also where the wedding was held. As soon as we got there, we felt right at home! The boys even got ready at the camp ground, making it so comfortable and completely unique to them. On top of it all, the weather could not have been more perfect. The dark and moody colors in the wedding were SO BEAUTIFULLY complimented by the dark, moody weather. We just loved being a part of this day and capturing such a JOY FILLED, wonderful day with just the best people. We are so, so honored to have been a part of it all!
